Chaumet Paris Abeille earrings
Sep 15, 2022
Chaumet unveiled the pair of stud earrings in this year's new Abeille Fine Jewelry collection, inspired by Chaumet's mid-19th-century "Naturalism" style jewelry. With the theme of bees wandering through the flowers, the designers bring nature to life through colorful gemstones in bright tones.
The "bee", one of the most important animal motifs in Chaumet's jewelry works, originally originated from the bee shape on the coat of arms of the Napoleon family. Chaumet's representative series "Bee My Love" is based on the theme of bees, imitating the hive structure through a chic hexagon, and the harmonic "Be My Love" of the series name has a romantic metaphor.
This classic theme is reinterpreted in the Abeille collection, and the shape of the bee returns to the natural form of 19th-century jewelry. The designers carefully observed the bee's body structure, using two teardrop-shaped gemstones to represent the bee's head and abdomen, and the chest was paved with round gemstones. The two stud earrings are dominated by orange and green – spessartine garnet and yellow sapphire represent the markings of bees; Tsavray stone and peridot symbolize the green grass and trees of spring.
Chaumet has a special design for the bee's wing part, through the "double layer" wings to show the bee flapping wings, the top layer is set with white gold diamonds, the bottom layer is made of 18K gold, and the delicate hollow design highlights the light posture of the bee.
