Hermès unveiled this collection of jewelry in its new 2021 fine jewellery collection "Kellymorphose", inspired by the brand's classic handbag, the Kelly Bag. Pierre Hardy, Creative Director of Jewelry at Hermès, has cleverly incorporated signature elements from handbags such as rotating buckles and thin straps into jewelry designs in an elegant and sumptuous style.
Born in the 1930s as "Sac à dépêches", the "Kelly Pack" was written by Robert Dumas, the fourth heir of Hermès. In 1956, a photograph of Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco carrying the handbag to hide her pregnancy was published in Life magazine and was so popular that Hermès renamed it "Kelly's Bag".
The Kelly Baguettes bracelet is based on the unique rotating buckle design of the "Kelly Bag" - the diamond-set version is arranged with square-cut gemstones to form a three-dimensional buckle, and the bracelet wall is laid out with long-stepped diamonds, which is simple and bright; The black spinel version features a wide-brimmed structure, and the buckle edges retain a special rivet detail in rose gold, contrasting with the deep tones of black spinel.
Kelly Gavroche's finger band draws inspiration from the buckled straps of the Kelly Bag to accentuate the soft texture of leatherware. The whole ring is designed as a double-circle structure, which freely shuttles between the two fingers, reminiscent of the three-dimensional shape of the thin belt naturally curled, and the exquisite diamond-encrusted spiral buckle can be seen at the top of the ring, which becomes the finishing touch of the whole piece.
