Van Cleef & Arpels has just unveiled a new season of jewelry collection, "Perles d'Été", inspired by the beautiful scenery of the Mediterranean Sea, with the lake blue "turquoise" as the main stone, reminiscent of the clear waters and bright sunshine of the Mediterranean Sea.
Van Cleef & Arpels has been using "Turquoise" in their work since the 1920s, a gemstone with a distinctive lake blue hue that is particularly well-matched with gold. The turquoise used in this new work is mined from arizona, USA, and the curved cut highlights the color of the gem itself.
The new collection presents 12 pieces that continue the iconic "gold balls" of the Perlée collection, with gold beads subtly surrounding the rounded center stone, each mirror-polished in contrast to the translucent texture of the gemstone.
Most notably, a Brume de Turquoise gold necklace set with 19 curved turquoise pendants is partly radial and set with round diamonds and sapphires in the middle, like the reflection of the sun's rays in the Mediterranean Sea.
