Boucheron unveiled this Goutte de Ciel necklace in the 2020 "Contemplation" fine jewelry collection, inspired by the vagaries of the sky. The center stone of this work is very unique – the transparent crystal shell is a special "Aerogel" material, which is soft and hazy, like a mesmerizing sky view.
Aerogel is the world's lightest solid material, consisting of 99.8% air and 0.2% silica, which NASA dedicates to collecting stardust from space. Boucheron seals this special material in a curved crystal box, and the sky-like blue tone changes with the light.
The entire necklace is arranged by nearly 70 different shapes of links, creating a rich sense of layering - platinum links with pavé diamonds, bright and sparkling fire; The crystal links are polished into a thin flat bead shape, and the translucent hazy feeling naturally echoes the blue "aerogel".
