On November 8, Christie's Geneva will auction a 18.18ct pear-shaped pink diamond, "The Fortune Pink," the largest pear-cut Fancy Vivid Pink diamond on the auction market to date, with an estimated value of $35 million.
According to GIA grading reports, this 18.18ct waterdrop-cut pink diamond achieves the highest color rating Fancy Vivid Pink in a magnificent and captivating pink hue. This pink diamond is set as the center stone in a diamond ring with a triangular cut diamond on each side that echoes the shape of the waterdrop-cut center stone.
Christie's said that the diamond's cutting weight of 18.18ct is particularly in line with the lucky number "18" in Chinese culture, which implies prosperity and wealth, and the English name "The Fortune Pink" also emphasizes the meaning of "lucky".
Highlights of the auction also include a 41.36ct Ascher-cut diamond, a 14.84ct Kashmiri sapphire, and a BVLGARI Colombian emerald ring. You'll also find several antiques from the Art Deco period, such as BVLGARI's three-row pearl necklace and the pear-shaped diamond earrings of Henri Picq at the Paris jewelry workshop.
