Gucci Hortus Deliciarum white gold necklace

Oct 5, 2022

Antique micro-set mosaics set with yellow beryl, pink spinel, peridot and diamonds.

Gucci unveiled this one-of-a-kind necklace in the new fine jewelry collection "Hortus Deliciarum" in 2022, inspired by the "Grand Tour" tradition that emerged from the Renaissance, with the biggest highlight being the incorporation of antique mosaic micro-inlays, lined with colorful treasures to lead people to stroll Italy's famous historical monuments, embark on a journey across time and space.

The "Grand Tour" is a unique way of travel for the European Renaissance aristocracy - young people from aristocratic families turn 21 years old, accompanied by erudite guides, visiting ancient monuments, cultural heritage, increasing their knowledge and knowledge, as a rite of passage, Gucci's brand birthplace - Italy is an important destination for "study tours".

Gucci has specially selected a group of micro-mosaic works made from 1850 to 1870 to pay tribute to the glorious Roman ruins. The antique work in the center of the necklace depicts the "Temple of Hercules", which is made up of hundreds of mosaic mosaics in different shades such as blue, green and brown, realistically reproducing the light and dark light and shadow of the building, exuding a classical atmosphere like oil painting.

The entire necklace is crafted from white gold and shaped with intricate florals and vine leaves, which are clustered around antique micro-mosaic pieces. The necklace is flanked by large particles of yellow beryl, pink spinel and peridot, and the bright colors create a unique natural mood that brings Italian monuments back to life.
