Tiffany Masterpiece Collection Elephant Brooch
Sep 13, 2022
This brooch from Tiffany's 2016 Masterpiece collection features an elephant in full costume, faithful to a historical piece from 1968. Designed by Jean Schlumberger himself and produced in France, the original is a classic of Jean Schlumberger's naturalistic jewelry.
The elephant's head is covered with blue-black enamel, which especially mimics the rough texture of the elephant's skin; The elephant eye is a pink sapphire with a curved surface; Elephant ears are covered with round brilliant-cut diamonds, and ears are covered with gold spikes. The elephant's headdress is exotic, with crystals inlaid in a rattan grid made of gold and turquoise droplets dotted under the rattan.
Two ivory pieces are made of white agate, two spiral-shaped gold sleeves can be seen on the tip of the teeth, the decoration of the elephant trunk is more ornate, the gold sleeve is polished with mottled textures, and 6 square cut tsavle stones are inlaid, and the bright fire is the finishing touch.
Tiffany gave the brooch to the Elephant Crisis Fund in the United States as an expression of support for wild elephant conservation and anti-poaching.
