The necklace features 5 70.40 ct total pear-shaped emeralds, all from Colombia, and 3 drop-cut diamonds weighing 5.81ct, 3.59ct and 3.59ct on the back, all Type IIa diamonds with D-color and Flawless clarity grades that can be converted to earrings.

The Merveille d'Оmeraudes necklace is Van Cleef & Arpels' new piece of fine jewelry launched in 2020 inspired by an emerald necklace that once belonged to Egyptian Princess Fawzia FuadThe designer continues the unique use of "teardrop-shaped gemstones" in the original work to create a modern and gorgeous unique piece.

This emerald necklace owned by Princess Fawzia Fuad was made in 1929 in a typical Art Deco style. The entire piece is a collection of 10 Colombian emeralds of increasing size, and the curved water droplet shape makes the center stone more intense and fuller. Crafted from platinum, the necklace is joined by geometric chain links and intricate pendants at the back of the neck, alternating round and baratador diamonds.

This is one of Princess Fawzia Fuad's favorite royal jewels, and after purchasing it in 1947, she wore it many times to official occasions such as court balls, and Fawzia Fuad accompanied the princess during her exile in Europe and emigration to the United States. In 2013, the work was unveiled at Christie's Geneva auction and fell for a whopping 3.861 million Swiss francs and was eventually included in the Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry collection.

"Merveille d'Оmeraudes", which means "emerald miracle" in French, the newly designed necklace is also based on 5 magnificent pear-shaped emeralds, with a total weight of more than 70ct, all from Colombia, and the inside of the crystal can be seen in a charming natural inclusionFlip over to the back of the necklace to see a waterfall-like geometric pendant, and three teardrop-shaped diamonds weighing nearly 13ct sway lightly on the back.

The 8 teardrop-shaped pendants of the entire work all hide the detachable structure and can be freely replaced, presenting a rich combination of possibilities. Van Cleef & Arpels also created a pair of earrings of the same style, and the stud earrings are also shaped into geometric shapes, and can be worn with teardrop-shaped emerald or diamond pendants underneath for a more gorgeous and flexible style.
